Ceylon Coffee beans are considered very high in quality due to the rich soil and high moisture environment where it grows. Long before tea become emblematic of Sri Lanka, the country was known as one of the world's biggest coffee producers.
CPE Ceylon Coffee is grown in the gardens of beautiful Central Hilly Area, Navalapitiya. The processed coffee beans are sorted, graded and roasted to capture and preserve the essence of Ceylon Coffee. Finally it will be blended to produce the perfect harmony between Arabica and Robusta beans to satisfy the taste buds of customers all around the world.
High quality Arabica coffee should have a slightly sweet flavor, with hints of chocolate, nuts, and caramel. There will be a slight/pleasant acidity, and a little bitterness with low caffeine content (1.5%).
The Robusta coffee bean has a stronger, harsher taste, with a grain-like overtone and peanutty aftertaste which is more suitable for espressos. They contain twice as much caffeine as Arabica beans (2.7 %).
